What Materials Can We Use to Manufacture Plastic Water Bottles?

We provide a range of plastic materials as a professional water bottle manufacturer to satisfy various market demands, including wholesale customization projects, sports bottles, kids’ bottles, and lifestyle drinkware. Every material has unique properties, including cost, heat resistance, transparency, durability, and safety. Currently, we mainly use Tritan™, PCTG, PC, and PPSU for plastic water bottles, and we also combine food-grade PP and silicone for lids and sealing structures. To give our OEM/ODM clients more options, we recently added PCTG as a new material option.

Plastic Tritan

High-end reusable water bottles frequently contain tritan copolyester. It is renowned for its durability, clarity, and BPA-free safety. It is perfect for outdoor and sports use because it doesn’t smell even after prolonged use and doesn’t break easily. Additionally, Tritan complies with EU and FDA food contact regulations.

PCTG Plastic (Option for New Material)

Tritan is thought to be more expensive than PCTG, which belongs to the copolyester family. In order to assist clients seeking greater transparency and safety at a more affordable cost, we have added PCTG to our list of materials.

Excellent clarity

Perfect for injection and blow molding

economical for large-scale projects

⚠ Note: It is not advised for prolonged contact with boiling water due to its slightly lower heat resistance than Tritan.

Polycarbonate, or PC

Water bottles have long been made of PC plastic because of its great strength and resistance to heat, but in many consumer markets, Tritan and PCTG have gradually taken its place because traditional PC frequently contains BPA.

Limitation:

BPA may be present.

Products for infants or those with delicate health are not advised.

PPSU (Premium Substance)

Because of its remarkable durability and high heat resistance (up to 180°C), PPSU is a high-performance engineering plastic that is primarily used in baby feeding bottles and medical equipment.
